American Red
Cross Courses: The American Red
Cross has been a leader in safety and health education for more than 80
years. Our courses are developed in collaboration with leading medical
authorities and reflect the latest recommendations and techniques. American
Red Cross supervised instructors provide the highest quality of standardized
training. Your certification will be recognized anywhere in the employment
requirement, please contact your advisor/employer to determine which class
will meet their requirements. A Few Things to
Remember: Many classes
involve practicing skills on the floor; therefore, we recommend that
participants wear clothing that allows for easy movement. As the course
requires physical activity, we urge you to speak to a physician regarding any
health problems. All classes are
held at the American Red Cross office in Lunch: For daylong
courses we recommend you bring your lunch. Additional Course
Information To Receive Certification: You must attend
the entire class, pass the skills testing and get an 80% or higher on the
written exam. All of our courses are designed at a seventh-grade reading
level, and the skill testing is conducted in a manner to make all
participants feel comfortable. Attendance: You must arrive on time. The instructor reserves the
right to ask you to reschedule if you are late. If you do not attend and fail
to notify us prior to class, there will be no refunds and you will have to
re-register and pay for another class. Certificate
Replacement: You may obtain a replacement certificate at the
Chapter where you took the course. There is a $8.00 fee per card issued. No
exceptions. Cards must be current to be reprinted. It is recommended that you
keep a photocopy of your card. Refunds and
Cancellations: Class size is
limited and registrations are received on a pre-paid, first-come,
first-serve basis. There must be 8
students registered to conduct a class. We will make every attempt to contact
you within 24 hours (except when due to
inclement weather) of canceling a class due to low enrollment. If we cancel your
class, you may transfer to another class.
If you cancel your registration, refunds will NOT be issued. We regret that we cannot issue refunds,
although you may transfer to another class. Registration: There are several
ways to register for a class at the American Red Cross Westmoreland County
Chapter. Please select the way that is most convenient for you. All classes must be pre-paid. We cannot accept
payment at the door unless arrangements are made in advance. Register by Phone: Please call 724-834-6510. A staff member is
available to take your call Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. Please
have your credit card (VISA or MasterCard) ready along with course enrollment
information. Payment by Mail: After registering
by phone, mail your check or money order to: American Red Cross Make your check or
money order payable to American Red Cross, Once we receive
your paid registration, your placement in the desired class will be assured
as long as the minimum class size of 8 students is met. Persons
with Special Needs: Please call in advance to request any special needs,
if you are expecting please consult your physician before registering for any
classes. Parking: Metered parking is available in front of the
building and in the city lot on |
