PROJECTS: Disaster Services

INTERESTED??? - If interested in any of the projects listed below or if you have an idea for a project of your own for you or your group, please call our Director of Emergency Services at 724-834-6510 or email at emserv@westred.org to discuss the details.

BEFORE THE FIRE: Help spread the word through Community Disaster Education in elementary and middle schools. This is a great project for a high school clubs. You group can teach fire prevention skills to younger students in your school district. Get your local fire company involved too - ask them to join you for "Fire Prevention Month" in October.

For more information on this project, please contact our Director of Emergency Services at the above email or phone number.

CHANGE YOUR CLOCK, CHANGE YOUR BATTERIES: When you change your clocks in the spring and in the fall, you should also change the batteries in your smoke detectors. Having a working smoke detector is critically important to your family and neighbors.

Do a battery drive at school or ask local businesses to donate batteries for your project. Distribute the batteries to seniors who live on their own with a decorative card to remind them to change their batteries when they change their clocks.

For more information on this project, please contact our Director of Emergency Services at the above email or phone number.
